Terms of Service
Last updated 27 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Valheim server hosting service provided by Bifrost Hosting Ltd ("we", "us"). By ordering a server you agree to them.
1. What we provide
We provide a managed Valheim dedicated server running on hardware we operate in Frankfurt, Germany. Your plan sets the resources available to your server and whether it runs continuously or sleeps when no players are connected.
Valheim is developed and published by Iron Gate AB and Coffee Stain Publishing. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either company. You are responsible for owning a legitimate copy of the game in order to connect to your server.
2. Billing
- Service is billed monthly in advance. There is no minimum term and no setup fee.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider acting as merchant of record. They appear on your statement under that provider's name, and they handle VAT where it applies.
- You may cancel at any time. Your server keeps running until the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed after it.
- If a payment fails we will retry it and notify you. If it remains unpaid we may suspend the server. See section 6 for what happens to your data.
3. Mods
Mods are created by independent community authors. They are not made by us and not supported by Iron Gate AB. Where your plan includes mod management we will install the mods you choose, keep them updated, and test them after each Valheim update.
We cannot guarantee that any mod will work, or keep working. A Valheim update can break a mod, and some mods are never updated by their authors. When that happens we will help you return to a working configuration, including running without mods. Mod incompatibility is not grounds for a refund. This is set out again in our Refund Policy, and you are asked to acknowledge it when you enable mods.
4. Availability
We aim to keep your server available whenever you want to play, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee at this price point, and you should not treat this service as suitable for anything business-critical. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible. Valheim updates may require a short restart, and we always back your world up before applying one.
Servers on a sleeping plan are paused when empty by design. This is not downtime, and waking is available to you at any time.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for actions taken by anyone you give access to, including anyone you allow to control the server through Discord.
- Use the service lawfully and within our Acceptable Use Policy.
- You are responsible for who you invite to your server and how they behave on it.
6. Your world data
Your world belongs to you. You can download it at any time from your dashboard, in a standard Valheim format you can run elsewhere, including on your own computer.
After cancellation or non-payment we retain your world for 30 days, during which you can still download it. After that it is deleted permanently, along with its backups. We recommend downloading a copy before you cancel.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate a server that breaches the Acceptable Use Policy, that is used unlawfully, or where payment has failed. Where the reason is not a serious or unlawful breach we will contact you first and give you an opportunity to put it right.
We may discontinue the service as a whole. If we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice, refund any period paid for but not delivered, and keep world downloads available throughout that notice period.
8. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give at least 30 days' notice by email, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
